Situated in the bright Ampezzo hollow and surrounded by the imposing Dolomites, it offers an extraordinary variety of slopes spread over three ski areas: Tofane, Faloria-Cristallo and Lagazuoi 5 Torri. The most demanding descents are Forcella Rossa, Staunies, La Vertigine and Canale Staunies, the medium difficulty slopes are Armentarola and Olympia and the easier runs are those of Tofanina. The valley ski pass gives you access to all the slopes of the Auronzo-Misurina, San Vito di Cadore and Cortina ski areas, with 38 lifts and over 120 km of slopes, part of the famous Dolomiti Superski circuit.
In the heart of the Ampezzo Dolomites Natural Park, cross-country skiers can discover 7 km of trails, 2 of which are illuminated for night skiing and enjoy 70 km of snow-covered trails thanks to the artificial snow system. Discover the largest ski carousel in Europe, a circuit of 1,300 km of slopes in 12 resorts, with the Dolomiti NordicSki Card. In Cortina you will find perfect trails for every level, immersed in a unique and enchanting natural environment.
Snowshoeing in Cortina d'Ampezzo and the surrounding area offers a unique experience in the midst of breathtaking views and the tranquillity of snow-covered woods. Snowshoe hiking is suitable for everyone and does not require any special skills. The most fascinating itineraries are the one from Cian Zopè to Rifugio Dibona, at the foot of the majestic Tofana di Rozes, and the one that leads to Becco Muraglia, where remains of the Giau wall can be found. If you are lucky, you may even see roe deer, the noble inhabitants of the forest.
